Coaches
We are looking for coaches – all experience levels are welcome.
We help kids in Monterey County discover their potential. We guide them to strengthen their character and mentor them to give their all in everything they do.
To do this, we need enthusiastic and caring individuals to serve as positive mentors and role models to kids and teens of various backgrounds. Our coaches’ ability to develop impactful relationships with our participants is the backbone of our program.
You don’t have to be a golf pro (or even a good golfer), we will provide the training you need! Our training system is built on research-proven methods of positive youth development, providing coaches with the tools to make kids feel safe, included, and empowered.
If you have a passion for impact and want to become a coach, reach out to our Human Resources Director Cristina Herrera.
Volunteers
We need more than coaches to make First Tee possible. Our chapters rely on volunteers — sometimes year-round — to accomplish our mission, and not all of those goals involve golf. Most chapters need support off the course as well. These opportunities include:
- Fundraising/Events
- Operations/Administration
- Mentoring/Tutoring
- In-school program support
By contributing your time and talent, you can directly make an impact on a child’s life.
Active Volunteers
Post your availability, check your contact information, and sign up for service.
Student Volunteers
Don’t know which site to spend your service learning hours at? Explore First Tee – Monterey County and learn about your career opportunities at the end of your service.
Adult Volunteers
You don’t have to know anything about golf…you just need to be willing to step forward as a role model.
Volunteer SafeSport Prevention Policy
First Tee and its chapters are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for amateur athletes, children, and all participants affiliated with the organization.
