At First Tee – Monterey County, we are Building Game Changers by delivering a targeted curriculum of golf & character development, life skills, academic support, higher education, mentorship, & career development to provide youth of all backgrounds an opportunity for a brighter future.
Our Programs
Experiences are our greatest teacher. First Tee believes in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. Through our golf-based personal growth programs, we see kids build life and leadership skills that empower them in all areas of life, including school, friendships and eventually careers.
First Tee – Monterey County Welcomes Paulina Valdez
Paulina Valdez joined First Tee – Monterey County as Marketing Manager, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in brand strategy, creative direction, and marketing across the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach, Paulina has spent her career helping organizations tell their stories in ways that are authentic, clear, and genuinely connected to the people they serve.
In her role at First Tee – Monterey County, Paulina leads marketing efforts across digital, print, and community platforms — making sure families, donors, and partners understand the real impact of the organization’s youth development programs. She studied Art and Technology at Monterey Peninsula College and holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Universidad Anáhuac in Querétaro, Mexico. Reach her at [email protected].
Plates with Purpose Campaign
First Tee — Monterey County is proud to introduce Plates with Purpose, our 2026 community dining fundraiser series.
Throughout the year, participating restaurants across Monterey County will host designated dining days where supporters can give back by simply dining out and mentioning First Tee — Monterey County when ordering.
Each event helps fund programs that build confidence, leadership and life skills for local youth. Thank you for supporting First Tee — Monterey County.

The LAB Athletic & Golf Development Program Returns August 2
PBJG and The LAB are pleased to continue offering Athletic & Golf Development Programming designed to strengthen the body, prevent injury, increase athleticism, and support the demands of a golfer’s swing.
The next four-week session begins August 2.
