About Us

We enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.

In November of 2004, First Tee – Monterey County took over the management of the Twin Creeks Golf Course in Salinas, CA and began conducting golf and life skills programs for youth ages 4-17. First Tee – Monterey County Golf Campus is a 63-acre, 9-hole course, featuring a grass driving range, practice putting and chipping greens, and the John Zoller Clubhouse partnering with the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network. First Tee – Monterey County members participate in weekly golf and Life Skills classes taught by recognized First Tee Coaches and PGA Apprentices; receive $1 greens fees and large buckets of balls, free use of golf equipment and computers, friendly and competitive tournaments, scholarship opportunities, and national leadership and career exploration academies. Outreach efforts have been made to make our programs available to minorities, low-income youth, students with disabilities, at-risk youth, and girls who were previously denied access to the game and its positive values. Although First Tee – Monterey County is open to the public, the priority remains on serving the youth!
